Technical Assistance for Strengthening Consumer Protection Project Opening Conference

Technical Assistance for Strengthening Consumer Protection Project which will be implemented by Ministry of Customs and Trade General Directorate of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance with the Technical Assistance of WYG Türkiye, held on 29th July 2018 with the participation of the Minister Mr. Bülent Tüfenkci at Ankara.

During morning session workshop, after the presentation of the team leader Esil Önal, the participants from Ministry of Customs and Trade General Directorate and related Ngos seperated to the activity groups and contributed to the project activities.

Afternoon session continued with the opening speeches of the Minister of Customs and Trade, Mr. Bülent Tüfenkci, Ambassador, Head of European Union Delegation  Mr. Christian Berger,  General Director of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance Mr. Ahmet Erdal and Head of Central Finance and Contracts Unit Mr. Selim Uslu. 

During his speech, Mr. Tüfenkci, stated that they are producing new policies to settle the problems related to consumer rights and against consumer problems institutionalize the solidarity and collaboration on consumer employment policy is crucial. Tüfenkci also added in line with the project, TV spots, information brochures, posters, TV programs, scientific publications and researches which informs the consumers will be produced.

The project aiming to raise awareness not only consumers but also vendors and producers, started on May 2018 and implemented for 24 months.
