8th DAAD Networking Conference

Participation to DAAD Annual Conference on 7-8 July 2016 in Bonn, Germany was ensured by the TAT members. Within the framework of the EU-funded project entitled “Technical Assistance for Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme” it is our aim to strengthen the academic relations between Germany and Turkey and to support Turkey in its efforts towards accession by developing trained human resources on the EU acquis. In order to provide the opportunity to expand and enhance the network of higher education partner institutions in Germany and to contribute to the overall relations between the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme and German higher education, as the German junior partner in the project DAAD invited Jean Monnet scholarship Programme to visit DAAD premises. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a joint organization of the institutions of higher education in Germany working to promote international academic relations.

For JMSP this visit was an opportunity to participate in the 8th Networking Conference of DAAD and its network of German member institutions. The conference took place at the DAAD headquarters in Bonn, on 7-8 July 2016. The participation in this networking event allowed TAT to present the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme as a possible vehicle to foster academic mobility between Turkey and Germany. The visit proven to be mutually beneficial considering JMSP enriched the portfolio of opportunities available in order to establish sustainable network contacts for future cooperation, and DAAD’s German partner institutions to discover the possibility of cooperating with Turkey.

Participants of this Networking conference were including but not limited to, German Universities Excellence Initiative, partners of International Association of Universities NOHA – Network on Humanitarian Action, representatives from The German Rectors' Conference / Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK), and Professors and Administrative Staff from their Recpected Universities.

The Opening Ceremony of Technical Assistance for Garment Training and Entrepreneurship Initiative (GATE for Women)

The Opening Ceremony of Technical Assistance for Garment Training and Entrepreneurship Initiative (GATE for Women) the Beneficiary of which is Eastern Black Sea Development Agency and the Contracting Auhtority of which is Directorate of European Union and Financial Assistance in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey was held in Giresun New Jasmin Hotel on Tuesday 6th of September 2016.

The welcome speeches of the event were made by the Head of the Project Development and Implementation Unit of Eastern Black Sea Development Agency and Senior Representative of Operation Beneficiary of the Technical Assistance for Garment Training and Entrepreneurship Initiative MEHMET BOZDOĞAN, the Acting Deputy Head of the Economic and Social Development Section at Delegation of the European Union to Turkey ANDREA VERA, the Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Labour and Social Security and Head of Human Resources Development Operational Programme KÜRŞAD ARAT, Ordu Governor İRFAN BALKANLIOĞLU and Giresun Governor HASAN KARAHAN

The Opening Ceremony continued with the speech of FATMA AK the Former Internal Resources Manager at LC Waikiki which was about her experiences in the sector.

After the lunch break, the Team Leader of GATE Technical Assistance Team ANNA VIDINOVA started to make her presentation and then the meeting continued with the presentations of THİERRY DESCHİETERE the Education and Training Expert of GATE Technical Assistance Team and BURÇİN YEŞİLTEPE the Communication and Visibility Expert of GATE Technical Assistance Team.

Many directors of Public Education Centers from Ordu and Giresun provinces and Ready-Made Garment Sector Representatives attended the meeting. The General Manager of TYH Tekstil ÖRGÜR ÖZAY took the floor and informed the participants about the region and sector and then discussions were made on the solution of current problems.
