Capacity Building Trainings Conducted Simultaneously Under the Technical Assistance Project for Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services for Public–CSO Cooperation
Within the scope of the Technical Assistance Project for Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services for Public–CSO Cooperation, capacity building trainings were held simultaneously in Diyarbakır and Antalya between 15–17 January 2019, with the participation of representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) from pilot and neighboring provinces.
During the first group session, the problems faced by special policy groups and the underlying causes were discussed. In the second session, participants identified key stakeholders involved in social service projects designed to meet the needs of these groups and discussed the importance of stakeholder collaboration.
The training program focused on topics such as social policy, social inclusion and exclusion, special policy groups, the importance and principles of public–CSO cooperation in the provision of quality social services, principles of quality service delivery, and the social policy cycle — including the role and position of CSOs within that cycle. Under the main theme of “Qualified Service Delivery in the Social Sector”, the trainings were delivered simultaneously by trainers Gözde Keçeci and Gizem Öztimur.
CSO representatives from Diyarbakır, Mardin, Elazığ, Bingöl, Antalya, Konya, and Isparta participated in the trainings. On the second day, group work sessions were held to identify challenges and opportunities for public–CSO cooperation. The third day featured a training on advocacy, marking the successful completion of the capacity building program.
