Gaziantep Industrial Design and Modelling Center (GETHAM) Project

Implemented under the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs (COSME) Programme, the Gaziantep Regional Industrial Design and Hybrid Modelling Center Technical Assistance Project is carried out with the technical assistance of WYG Türkiye. The project’s Programme Authority is the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, and its beneficiaries include the KOSGEB Gaziantep Provincial Directorate and the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce. The project aims to enhance the competitiveness of the target region, contribute to its socio-economic development, and improve the innovation capacity of SMEs and entrepreneurs.

With a total budget of €2,260,000, the 24-month project was launched on 25 May 2016 in Gaziantep. In addition to Gaziantep, the project also extends to secondary target provincesAdıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Mardin, Osmaniye, and Şanlıurfa — and tertiary target provincesKayseri, Malatya, Van, and Diyarbakır. The target groups of the project include SMEs and entrepreneurs.

The project aims to strengthen the regional infrastructure for joint product development and process improvement and to increase awareness and technical capacity among SMEs and entrepreneurs, particularly those operating in leather goods manufacturing, jewellery and accessories, and electronic circuit design. The ultimate goal is to ensure the operationalization of GETHAM and to develop the industrial design and product development capacity of SMEs and entrepreneurs in the region.
