Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme Study Visit
The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, known as the most comprehensive scholarship programme operating in Türkiye, hosted its scholars with record participation at the Study Visit event held in Brussels on April 8-9, 2026.
Within the scope of the event organized by WYG Türkiye, the scholars gathered detailed information about the programme and spent two educational days.
The study visit began on the first day, with the opening speeches of Barbaros Murat Köse, Director of the Central Finance and Contracts Unit, and Bülent Özcan, Director, General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation at the Directorate for EU Affairs. The opening was followed by the speech of Yaprak Balkan, Permanent Delegate of Türkiye to the European Union .
Within the scope of the study visit, Antoine Colombani, Head of Unit, Directorate-General of the Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations; Daniela Morari, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union; Justin Ryan, COELA Delegate, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU; and Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, Chairman of the Economic Development Foundation (IKV), made important evaluations and shared their experiences regarding Türkiye-EU relations.
The first day's program concluded with a reception hosted by the Permanent Representation Residence.
The second day of the study visit continued with visits to the European Parliament and the European Committee of the Regions, and successfully concluded.
