“MİSGEP Mining Sector Consultation Meetings” Continue in Bursa
Within the scope of the “Improving Occupational Health and Safety Especially in the Mining Sector Project (MİSGEP),” implemented by the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety (İSGGM) and co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, the “MİSGEP Mining Sector Consultation Meetings,” which aim to improve occupational health and safety conditions in mining workplaces and raise awareness in this field across 25 provinces in seven regions of Turkey, continued in Bursa.
The meeting brought together Bursa Deputy Governor Mustafa KILIÇ, Deputy Director General of Occupational Health and Safety Sedat YENİDÜNYA, Rector of Bursa Technical University Prof. Dr. Arif KARADEMİR, Provincial Director of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) Eren TÜRKMEN, Provincial Director of the Social Security Institution (SGK) Erhan KARACA, Provincial Director of Trade İsmail ASLANLAR, President of the Bursa Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Arif TAK, as well as representatives of public institutions, mining enterprises, and OHS service providers (OSGBs) operating in the Bursa region.
During the event, participants discussed current occupational health and safety practices in the mining sector, challenges faced by local enterprises, and opportunities for further improving safety culture. The meeting also served as a platform for sharing experiences and strengthening collaboration between public authorities, academia, and the private sector in promoting safer and healthier working environments for miners.
