Opening and Second Sectoral Workshop on Rare Earth Elements

Enhancing the Rare Earth Elements Research and Innovation Capacity of Türkiye Project Opening Event and Second Sectoral Workshop was held at Munzur University on 17-18 July with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

During the project, the R&D activities, technical infrastructures and institutional capacities of MTA and MUNTEAM are supported, and it is aimed to increase the analysis competencies of the project stakeholders on Rare Earth Elements with the latest technology equipment obtained.

On the first day of the workshop, presentations were made on an overview of the services and competences of MTA and MUNTEAM, the current status of REEs in Türkiye, procurement opportunities and strategic importance. On the second day, group workshops were held with participants from the sector on different topics such as the Use of REEs in Electric Motor Production, REE Supply Chain Management, REE Technology Transfer, Innovation and Patent Studies.
