Strengthening of the National Social Security Fund (USGF) in Lebanon Project

The Steering Committee Meeting of the European Union-funded “Strengthening of the National Social Security Fund (USGF) in Lebanon” Project was held on 27 March 2018 with the participation of Mohammed Karaki, Director General of the National Social Security Fund, George Ida, Director General of the Ministry of Labour, as well as representatives from the European Union, the Office of Administrative Reform, and the implementing partner WYG.

During the meeting, participants discussed cooperation tools to be used among the involved parties to accelerate the progress and improve the performance of the project, particularly in the development of the strategic plan, the automation of NSSF management operations, and the establishment of a modern administrative structure.

With a total budget of €3.6 million, the project aims to strengthen strategic planning and management capacities, improve the operational framework, enhance human capacity through training and national discussions to increase staff performance, and raise awareness on social security-related issues.
