The Kick-off Meeting for the Technical Assistance and Supervision of Construction Works for the Bandırma Integrated Water Project Was Held Online

The Kick-off Meeting for the “Technical Assistance and Supervision of Construction Works for the Bandırma Integrated Water Project”, which will be implemented under the leadership of WYG International Consulting Limited Company and will last for 55 months, was held online on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the Republic of Turkey, the Balıkesir Water and Sewerage Administration (BASKİ), the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, as well as the contractor company, consortium members, and the project team leader. Appreciation was extended to all parties for their valuable contributions.

The project includes providing technical assistance services through capacity-building activities to ensure the sustainable operation of BASKİ’s water and wastewater systems, as well as carrying out contract management and construction supervision works for the wastewater treatment plant, drinking water transmission lines, and sewerage networks.

Aiming to strengthen Turkey’s capacity in the field of environmental protection, increase its level of alignment with EU wastewater sector directives, and thus accelerate the EU accession process, the project is being carried out with the goal of successful completion with the support of all stakeholders.
