The Kick-off Meeting of the Technical Assistance Project for Strengthening the Impact of Conditional Cash Transfer for Increasing School Attendance (CCT II) in Turkey Was Held Online

The Kick-off Meeting of the Technical Assistance Project for Strengthening the Impact of Conditional Cash Transfer for Increasing School Attendance (CCT II), led by WYG Türkiye as the consortium leader and planned to last for 30 months, was held online on 23 November 2020. The meeting was attended by representatives from the General Directorate of Social Assistance of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, the EU and Financial Assistance Department of the Ministry, the Ministry of National Education, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, consortium members, and the project team leader. Esat Aktaşoğlu, Deputy Head of the EU and Financial Assistance Department, also participated in the meeting.

The project aims to enhance and sustain children’s school attendance by increasing the awareness of local-level service providers, improving the quality of related services, and supporting the national-level impact evaluation and development of a monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the Conditional Education Assistance Programme. In addition, the project seeks to develop a model integrating social assistance and social services that includes preventive and protective programmes.
