Three-Day Kayseri Tour of “Güven Usta ile Vardiya Öyküleri” Concluded on August 11, 2021
The three-day Kayseri tour of the interactive theater play “GÜVEN USTA İLE VARDİYA ÖYKÜLERİ,” prepared under the activity “Interactive Training Seminars through Drama” of the project “Improving Occupational Health and Safety Especially in the Mining Sector (MİSGEP),” implemented by the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety (İSGGM) and co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, was completed on August 11, 2021, after three performances.
The “Güven Usta ile Vardiya Öyküleri” interactive theater play, developed to enhance miners’ awareness of occupational health and safety, promote communication and cooperation, and foster team spirit, was staged in Kayseri between 9–11 August 2021. The event was attended by employees from several mining companies, including DPI Mining, Zengan Mining, Dedeman Mining, Oreks Mining, Turmetco Mining, Havadan Yöresi Mining, Almila Mining, Gölemen Mining, Ergün Mining, and Elmacı Mining, all of which are beneficiaries of the Financial Support and Guidance Program. Additionally, Yahyalı Mayor and representatives from the Kayseri Social Security Institution (SGK) and İŞKUR also participated.
With the motto “Wherever You Are, We Are There,” the interactive play “GÜVEN USTA İLE VARDİYA ÖYKÜLERİ” reached approximately 600 mine workers through three performances in Kayseri. After each segment, participants were invited to share their insights and feedback, which contributed to the event’s engaging and impactful atmosphere.
Developed using drama techniques—one of the most effective ways to explore human behavior, communication, and abstract concepts—the Interactive Training Seminars through Drama aim to reach mine workers directly at their worksites. With the MİSGEP Tour Stage, approximately 60 seminars will be held across more than 30 provinces, reaching around 10,000 mine workers.
Following the Kayseri performances, “Güven Usta ile Vardiya Öyküleri” will continue its tour in August in Elazığ, Artvin, Gümüşhane, Giresun, Tokat, and Amasya, bringing together mine workers from across Turkey. The tour is scheduled to conclude by the end of September 2021.
