WYG Türkiye Translation Unit and Yaşar University Department of English Translation and Interpretation Met Online for a “Translation Internship–Industry Collaboration” Meeting on 27 May 2021

WYG Türkiye Translation Unit and Yaşar University Department of English Translation and Interpretation came together on 27 May 2021 for an online meeting titled “Translation Internship–Industry Collaboration.” Participants included Prof. Dr. Trevor John HOPE, Head of the Department of Translation and Interpretation, Dr. Asiye ÖZTÜRK, Dr. Aslı DAVAZ, WYG Türkiye Translation Unit Coordinator Ms. Ceren Özgür, and WYG Türkiye Translators Mr. Mert Duman, Mr. Kadir Göker Yıldırım, and Ms. Özlem Yuvarlak.

During the meeting, Translation Unit Coordinator Ms. Ceren Özgür introduced the WYG Türkiye Translation Unit and explained what the company expects from intern translators as a global organization, particularly emphasizing translation quality and professional standards. WYG Türkiye Translation Unit representatives also answered questions from academics and students, sharing insights into the translation industry and internship processes.

The session concluded with mutual appreciation and good wishes from both parties, expressing their hope that this cooperation will continue and bring lasting benefits for students and the translation sector alike.
