Zafer-İN Operation International University Conferences Successfully Held

Within the scope of the “Zafer-İN Operation – Improving the Adaptability of Employers and Employees in the TR33 Region” Project, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Zafer Development Agency, a series of International University Conferences were successfully organized throughout May 2017.

The conferences were hosted by four universities across the TR33 Region, each focusing on key regional sectors:

  • 3 May 2017 – Afyon Kocatepe University: Qualified Workforce in the Use of Thermal Resources
  • 5 May 2017 – Manisa Celal Bayar University: Industry 4.0 Applications in the Manufacturing Sector and Employee Adaptation
  • 11 May 2017 – Kütahya Dumlupınar University: Qualified Workforce in the Tile and Ceramic Sector
  • 23 May 2017 – Uşak University: Qualified Workforce in the Textile and Leather Sector

Conferences Brought Together Academia, Industry, and Civil Society

The four conferences attracted the participation of 1,150 attendees in total, including university students, academics, industrial representatives, and civil society organizations. Each event began with opening speeches followed by presentations from national and international experts specializing in the focus sectors of the respective provinces.

Panels on Regional Priorities and Future Workforce Needs

Following the keynote presentations, panel sessions were held to discuss the adaptation of employers and employees to the changing economic landscape, the role of education and training in building a qualified workforce, and the importance of aligning regional industries with modern technological developments such as Industry 4.0.

The Zafer-İN Operation continues to play a key role in strengthening the competitiveness, innovation capacity, and employability of the TR33 Region’s labor market, while supporting cooperation between academia, industry, and public institutions.
