Project Objectives and Results:

The global objective of this contract is to support the Nigerian authorities and stakeholders in the operational nature of public services related to advisory support and financing for the food, nutrition security sector and sustainable agricultural development.

Specific Objective 1: Improvement of the conditions of access to services in terms of advisory support and financing farmers (agriculture producers) by organizations;

Specific Objective 2: Improvement of the conditions of access to agricultural inputs and agricultural equipment by agricultural producers and households.

Project Activities:

  • Phase I: Draft two feasibility studies, define institutional models for FISAN structures, and analyse/draft performance contracts based on literature review and stakeholder interviews. Assess feasibility in four areas: advisory services, financing framework, support to producer organisations, and financial institutions.
  • Phase II: Conduct participatory and technical review of administrative documents and templates to validate requirements for operationalising FISAN mechanisms and performance contracts
  • Phase III: Support negotiations for four types of performance contracts (Agriculture Chambers, producer organisations, financial institutions, and public entities).
