Project Objectives and Results:

The overall objective of the project is to improve the economic and social conditions of the people living in the southeast of Turkey through promotion of cultural heritage development initiatives in the GAP region by supporting GAP administration, thus allowing them to manage future programmes without recourse to external assistance and enable the Turkish authorities to manage, in accordance with EC procedures, the funds available under the Cultural Heritage Component of the Programme.

The achieved results of the project are as follows:

Result 1: Establishment of the Project Management Unit

Result 2: Preparation and follow–up implementation of the grant scheme programme

Result 3: Participatory institution building, planning and project development

Result 4: Strategic planning and training activities
