Project Objectives and Results:
The overall objective of the project is to modernise customs legislation and practice in line with the EU standards for proper and effective implementation of the Union Customs Code (formerly known as the Modernized Customs Code) by strengthening administrative capacity of Turkish Customs Administration (TCA), raise awareness and increase the level of capacity among key stakeholders to enhance border enforcement of IPR within the implementation of the Union Customs Code.
The achieved results of the project are as follows:
Result 1: Increase in the administrative capacity of the MoT in the fight against counterfeiting and piracy.
Result 2: Awareness-raising for the public, MoT, relevant government institutions, NGOs and right holders about the importance and value of intellectual property, customs measures and actions to combat counterfeiting and piracy.
Result 3: Improvement of cooperation between different relevant government institutions and stakeholders.
