Project Objectives and Results:

The overall objective of the project is to support Turkey in its efforts towards accession by developing trained human resources on the EU acquis by providing technical assistance to the Directorate for EU Affairs for the implementation of the JMSP in an effective and timely manner.

The results to be achieved are as follows:

Result 1: Dissemination of all related information about the JMSP to all potential candidates and other relevant parties by using various communication and information tools.

Result 2: Assistance given to the Directorate for EU Affairs for the realisation of a transparent and fair selection of scholars, placement of the awardees, monitoring and assisting scholars’ studies for each academic year during the life span of the contract.

Result 3: The current database of the institutions updated and expanded through the needs of the scholars and the objective of the scholarship programme. Also, a balanced distribution of the scholars throughout the EU member states ensured progressively.

Result 4: Assistance given to all scholars during their studies and establishment of sustainable communication channels within the Jean Monnet alumni network to maintain relations between the scholars, who successfully completed their academic programmes.

Result 5: Preparation of an exit strategy prepared to establish a sustainable Jean Monnet Project Management Unit (PMU) within the Directorate for EU Affairs.

Target Groups:

  • Project Management Unit (PMU) and other related directorates in the DEUA
  • Employees of the public sector (including Professional organisations having legal public personality, chambers and local administrations - municipalities, special provincial administrations - development agencies, etc.)
  • Senior and graduate students as well as the academic and administrative staff of the universities
  • Employees of the private sector and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs)
