Project Objectives and Results:

The overall objective of the project is to mitigate adverse impacts of rapid migration in major urban areas by building a critical planning and operational capacity to effectively address key problems related to the rapid rural-urban migration into the municipalities of Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Erzurum, and Şanlıurfa (DGES).

The achieved results of the project are as follows:

Result 1: Development of a critical capacity within DGES to plan, organise, provide and manage adequate public services for a rapidly growing population

Result 2: Direct contribution to the integration of rural-urban migrants in DGES through 18 preconceived pilot projects

  • The municipalities and governorships of DGES
  • Related pilot project directors, social partners and governmental organisations
