Project Objectives and Results:

The overall objective of the programme is to establish a Programme Management Unit (PMU), responsible for the monitoring of the implementation of all Rural Development Support Programme grant schemes in the Northern part of Cyprus, working closely with the European Union Task Force for the Turkish Cypriot community.

The achieved results of the project are as follows:

Result 1: Assessment of all rural development grant scheme proposals submitted by applicants

Result 2: Assisting for the smooth and effective implementation of grant scheme projects (rural development and community development), including the pilot rural development grant scheme

Result 3: Design and implementation of a training programme to improve the knowledge of administrators and grant beneficiaries with attention to the rules governing the implementation of grant scheme projects financed by the EU

Result 4: Assisting the management of the other RDSP components for the preparation of supply tender dossiers, their contracting and subsequent monitoring and reporting; the supply tenders will be in the fields of crop and animal husbandry (e.g. irrigation and laboratory equipment)

Result 5: Assisting the Contracting Authority in the monitoring of service, supply and works contracts of the RDSP components

Result 6: Contribution to the easy access of all stakeholders and the interested public to information regarding the implementation of the RDSP
