Awareness-Raising Meeting

The “Empowerment of Women through Cooperatives Project” Bursa Awareness-Raising Meeting was held in Bursa on June 27, 2022, with opening speeches delivered by Mr. Alinur AKTAŞ, Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality; Mr. İbrahim YUMAKLI, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry; Ms. Fatma ÖNCÜ, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services; and Mr. Yakup CANBOLAT, Governor of Bursa.

The Bursa Awareness-Raising Meeting, organized within the scope of the project, aimed to prepare Provincial Roadmaps and Activity Plans to strengthen women’s cooperatives, shape the main framework of a Türkiye-specific ecosystem-based growth model with the participation of all relevant local stakeholders, and raise awareness on women’s cooperative initiatives.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the project’s target groups, including relevant public institutions, local administrations, women’s cooperatives, women’s cooperative unions, neighborhood headmen, non-governmental organizations, private sector representatives involved in the supply chain, and academics working in the field of cooperatives.
