EU Environmental and Hygiene Standards Awareness Trainings Completed
The awareness-raising trainings for farmers, food processors, and experts from the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (ARDSI/TKDK) have been successfully completed. The trainings focused on the obligations regarding food hygiene, raw milk hygiene/quality, animal welfare, and environmental protection legislation and practices applied in both the European Union and Turkey, as well as the minimum requirements that must be met under the IPARD II Programme and the benefits these requirements bring to enterprises.
The trainings were conducted in Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Erzurum, Manisa, and Ankara, reaching the targeted level of participation in each province.
Participants included farmers and food processors covered under the IPARD II Programme measures “101 – Investments in Physical Assets of Agricultural Holdings” and “103 – Investments in Physical Assets Concerning Processing and Marketing of Agricultural and Fishery Products.” The trainings reached farmers engaged in dairy, red meat, poultry, and egg production, as well as enterprises involved in dairy, red meat, poultry, aquaculture, fruit, and vegetable processing and packaging. In total, approximately 700 participants attended the sessions.
Within the scope of the project’s awareness-raising activities, the preparation of guidance documents and informative posters on raw milk hygiene/quality, animal welfare, and environmental protection legislation is also planned. These materials will support enterprises in their alignment with EU standards and contribute to the sustainability of good practices.
