Opening Meeting of the Project on Empowering Women through Cooperatives

The Opening Meeting of the Project on Empowering Women through Cooperatives was held in Ankara on December 14, 2021. The opening speeches were delivered by Dr. Faruk C. Tekindağ, General Manager of WYG Türkiye; Ms. Süreyya Erkan, Head of the EU and Financial Assistance Department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security; Mr. Angel Gutierrez Hidalgo, Acting Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye; Dr. Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry; and Ms. Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services.

The aim of the Project on Empowering Women through Cooperatives is to create an enabling environment for the development of women’s cooperatives and to empower women by promoting and supporting women’s cooperatives. The beneficiary institution of the project is the Directorate General on the Status of Women under the Ministry of Family and Social Services, while the co-beneficiary is the Department of Training and Publication under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The project is co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye.
