Technical Assistance for Empowering Women through Cooperatives

Study Visit - Italy

The first study visit of Technical Assistance for Empowering Women through Cooperatives was held on 10-14 October 2022 in Rome and Florence, Italy.

The delegation, including the Directorate General on Status of Women of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the representatives of Central Organisation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the heads of women's cooperatives from Adana, Ankara and Bursa, and the provincial representatives of the Ministries, visited the most rooted Italian cooperative union Legacoop, Flora Toscana, Alice Coop, Montalbano, FILO and FIBRA cooperatives.

During the visits, fruitful consultations were held by sharing information about Italy's cooperative structure, the cooperation on Italian and international cooperatives, the structure of social and agricultural cooperatives, equal participation, and representation of women in cooperatives, and the examples of good practices.
