Strengthening the Impact of Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT II) to Increase High School Attendance Rate in Turkey (CCT II) Technical Assistance Project “Closing Conference”

The ‘Closing Conference’ of the Technical Assistance for Strengthening the Impact of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme in Türkiye for Increasing Upper Secondary School Attendance - II (CCT-II) was held in Ankara on 12 July with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Family and Social Services, EU Delegation to Türkiye and Ministry of National Education.

During the closing conference, ‘How to ensure sustainable inter-institutional cooperation on school attendance of students in need?’ was the topic of the panel discussion.

It was aimed to strengthen the impact of Conditional Cash Transfer to increase school attendance in Türkiye by improving the quality of related services provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Services in achieving the objectives of the Conditional Cash Transfer programme and by developing preventive and protective programmes using the Ministry of National Education.

Within this framework, various activities were organised in Istanbul, Edirne, Izmir, Ankara, Adana, Hatay, Gaziantep, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Mardin, Van, Samsun and Trabzon.

Jean Monnet Scholarship Program Study Visit


Known as the most comprehensive scholarship programme operating in Türkiye, the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme hosted its scholars in Brussels on 23-24 May.

On the first day, the scholars met at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Türkiye, visited the European Parliament, and ended the day with a reception hosted by TUSIAD Representative to the EU & Business Europe in Brussels.

During the event led by WYG Türkiye, the scholars received detailed information about the programme and spent 2 days full of education during this process. While the general objectives of the programme were discussed in the meeting, the social functioning of the project and new approaches were also discussed.

They continued with a visit to the European Commission on the second day and followed up to presentations on the duties of the Commission, EU digital transformation and Türkiye-EU relations.

After the meeting, the scholars had a pleasant time and had the opportunity to see the historical points of the city to discover the European spirit in the European History House Museum.
