Technical Assistance for Strengthening Consumer Protection Project
Technical Assistance for Strengthening Consumer Protection Project started on 7th May 2018 and expected to conduct in 24 Months. The contracting authority of the project is Central Finance and Contracts Unit and the project will be implemented by Ministry of Customs and Trade with the technical assistance of WYG Türkiye.
Overall objective of project is to achieve a better functioning consumer protection and harmonizing Turkey’s legislation with EU acquis and is to achieve a better functioning consumer protection, considering all elements of the system, in line with EU acquis and EU Member States' best practices and to increase the efficiency of the consumer protection system through improved enforcement, better communication and increased awareness levels among key stakeholders.
New Strategies on Consumer Protection
During the project, creative awareness raising campaigns will be held regarding the rights of consumers and legal application tools. Also, to strengthen the consumer arbitration committee with various tools and determination of the new strategies on the purpose of ensuring stronger and efficient consumer protection with close coordination between private sector and civil society, namely raising awareness of not only consumers but also vendors and producers in line with the consumer rights will be targeted in line with this 2 years project.
