Technical Asistance For Recruitment Of Future Blood Donors Project Closing Event

The Closing Event of the Technical Assistance for Recruitment of Future Blood Donors Project, which is jointly implemented by the Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Health and Turkish Red Crescent with the technical assistance of WYG Türkiye was held on 14 June 2016, Tuesday at Rixos Grand Ankara Hotel.

Technical Assistance for Recruitment of Future Blood Donors Project, was developed to improve the capacities of the parties to establish an efficient coordination between the beneficiary institutions and to develop an attitude among students for voluntary blood donation. The overall objective of the Project is to contribute to the improvement of community health by preventing problems in supplying safest blood. 28-month Project was completed in June 2016 and you may find below all the activities and results achieved in this Project.

Activities were completed to improve the capacity of Ministry of Health, Ministry of National Education and Turkish Red Crescent on voluntary and non-remunerated blood donor recruitment during the implementation of the Project that aims to increase knowledge and understanding level of students particularly primary and secondary school students (1st-12th grades), parents, school administrators and teachers on voluntary and non-remunerated blood donation. 

Media and visibility materials were prepared under the scope of the “Recruitment of Future Blood Donors Project”. Two Blood Donor Education and Recruitment Campaigns were organised in 500 pilot schools among 81 provinces. The contribution of the Project was not limited to the students and parents of 500 pilot schools. Project contributed to raise awareness of the public nationwide.
