Technical Assistance for Empowerment of the Role of Ombudsman in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights

International Ombudsman Conference on “The Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century” was held in Ankara on 11-12 January 2023 within the scope of "Technical Assistance for Empowerment of the Role of Ombudsman in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights", funded by the European Union, and of which the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Central Finance and Contracts Unit is the Contracting Authority and which is carried out under the leadership of the Directorate for EU Affairs.

The opening programme of the conference at the Presidential Complex with the presence of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Mustafa Şentop, Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mustafa Varank, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director for EU Affairs, Mr. Faruk Kaymakcı, Head of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye and Ambassador Mr. Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, UNHCR Representative to Türkiye Mr. Philippe Leclerc and the Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye, Mr. Şeref Malkoç attended the conference as speakers.
