Project for the Improvement of Occupational Health and Safety in Mining (MISGEP)

“Workshop on Improving Occupational Health and Safety in the Mining Industry” of the Project for the Improvement of Occupational Health and Safety in Mining (MISGEP) was held in Ankara on Thursday, April 27, 2023, as part of the World Occupational Health and Safety Day Events. Representatives of public institutions, universities, official institutions, NGOs and other stakeholder institutions that take an active role in the field of occupational health and safety in the mining sector participated in the workshop.

In the workshop, the results achieved in the MISGEP Health Surveillance Activity, the analysis and evaluation of the data obtained were shared with the participants. The results and analyzes reached by the health surveillance activity were evaluated in the panel.

At the round table meeting held in the second part of the workshop, the opinions and suggestions of the participants were received on the prevention of chronic diseases and health promotion in mining workplaces, the prevention of pneumoconiosis and noise-induced hearing loss. The final comments and suggestions of the workshop were prepared with the contributions of the participants.
