Technical Assistance for Empowerment of the Role of Ombudsman in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights

“Closing Conference of Technical Assistance for Empowerment of the Role of Ombudsman in the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights was realised on May 4, 2023, in Ankara.”

The opening programme of the closing conference was attended by Mr. Alexander Fricke, Head of the Civil Society, Fundamental Rights, Justice, and Interior Department of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye, Ms. Elif Kurşunlu, Director General for Relations with the European Union at the Presidency of the European Union, and Mr. Şeref Malkoç, Turkish Chief Ombudsman, followed by a detailed evaluation of the successes and achievements of the project. The afternoon session of the conference included a workshop on "How Should Ombudsmanship Reach Youth?".

During the project, Human Resources Development Strategy was prepared for Institutional Needs of Ombudsman Institution; Visibility, Communication, and Public Relations Strategy were prepared, special trainings were organised for institution personnel, international placing activities, field visits; regional conferences with ombudsmanship clubs of public opinion, local stakeholders and universities were held, important promotion activities such as public service announcements, short films, promotional animations and success stories were realised.
