8th DAAD Networking Conference

8th DAAD Networking Conference

Participation to DAAD Annual Conference on 7-8 July 2016 in Bonn, Germany was ensured by the TAT members. Within the framework of the EU-funded project entitled “Technical Assistance for Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme” it is our aim to strengthen the academic relations between Germany and Turkey and to support Turkey in its efforts towards accession by developing trained human resources on the EU acquis. In order to provide the opportunity to expand and enhance the network of higher education partner institutions in Germany and to contribute to the overall relations between the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme and German higher education, as the German junior partner in the project DAAD invited Jean Monnet scholarship Programme to visit DAAD premises. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a joint organization of the institutions of higher education in Germany working to promote international academic relations.

For JMSP this visit was an opportunity to participate in the 8th Networking Conference of DAAD and its network of German member institutions. The conference took place at the DAAD headquarters in Bonn, on 7-8 July 2016. The participation in this networking event allowed TAT to present the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme as a possible vehicle to foster academic mobility between Turkey and Germany. The visit proven to be mutually beneficial considering JMSP enriched the portfolio of opportunities available in order to establish sustainable network contacts for future cooperation, and DAAD’s German partner institutions to discover the possibility of cooperating with Turkey.

Participants of this Networking conference were including but not limited to, German Universities Excellence Initiative, partners of International Association of Universities NOHA – Network on Humanitarian Action, representatives from The German Rectors' Conference / Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK), and Professors and Administrative Staff from their Recpected Universities.
